An atmospheric water generator (AWG) is a water from air machine that makes water from humid air around us. Water vapor in the air is condensed by cooling the air below its dew point, exposing the air to desiccants, or pressurizing the air. Unlike a dehumidifier, this water generator is designed to change air to water that is very pure and drinkable.
The air to water generators are useful where it is difficult or impossible to get pure drinking water, because there is almost always a small amount of water in the air that can be extracted. The two main techniques in use are cooling and desiccants.
This water making machine employs dehumidification/condensing technology that extracts water from the humidity in the ambient air. After obtaining the water, it is then filtered and purified through several filters including carbon, reverse osmosis, UV sterilization lights. The result is the purest drinking water from air.
This technology is often referred to as “water from air”, “water from humidity”, “air water maker” or “air water generator”.

To make water from air may not be free of cost, because a lot of energy is needed for some of these water making machines’ processes. Certain traditional water making machine methods are completely passive, depending on natural temperature differences, and requiring no external energy source.
Researches have also developed water from air machines technologies to produce useful amounts of water using a smaller amount (but non-zero) energy cost.

Solar atmospheric water generators (AWGs) can be very efficient in hot, humid areas — especially where there is no electricity and poor quality water. These water making machines make water from humid air by using the power of the sun instead of using home electricity.
Using solar power is almost always less expensive than using electrical power, but solar technology is usually more expensive to buy comparing to equipment that uses electricity. However, it lasts for a long time and when comparing it to the electricity bills it sounds much cheaper.
A new technology of making water from air uses the Peltier effect of semi-conducting materials. In this technology one side of the semi-conducting material heats while the other side cools, and then the air is forced over the cooling fins on the side that cools which lowers the temperature of the air to its dew point making water condense.
The water produced is then collected. Because of the solid-state nature of the semi-conducting material and the lower energy usage, some of these new designs use solar panels as an energy source.

How Atmospheric water generator works! Atmospheric water generators / air to water machines change air into pure potable water without the existence of any water source, depending on the level humidity and temperature. The humidity level should be at least 50% or above to make the best amount of water from air. In areas with lower humidity level, the air to water machine will still produce water but not as quickly, nor as much as in places with high level of humidity. Inside houses, a higher level of humidity exists around the kitchen area, near an open window or in more spacious rooms.
